Black Lantern has returned from our last show of the Spring at U.C. Berkeley where we joined the Berkeley Sustainability Team for a few days as a part of their Earth Week celebration. As a part of STeam’s tabling events, we got to spend more time than we ever have on campus directly engaging students and community-members and for the first time with our Cartesian Eco-FemDarkanism: Radix exhibit.
BLS extends a huge thank you to “The Michelles”: Michelle Choi and Michelle Lowe, STeam Earth Week co-coordinators. They worked really hard with us to spread the word about the show and to integrate Black Lantern into their week-long series of events. We appreciate the hospitality and hard work by the Michelles and all of the STeam members.
The show itself was held in a nice venue and had great audio-visual technology, which made the show very fun for us. The audience was fantastic–a diverse group that showed up for conversation before the show and hung out for more afterward. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate Earth Day in the dark with us. If you were at the show, let us know what you thought . . . we appreciate the opportunity to continue the Cartesian Eco-FemDarkanism conversation.
More to come from our weekend in the Bay area, including some shots from the Muir Woods. In true BLS fashion, we are already at work on some exciting new projects that we hope to unveil soon, including a Radix website launch, the opening of the Black Lantern Bazaar, and an EarthNight celebration!
Our best,
Troy, Jeff and Matt
